Namakagon Cancer Walk

October 13

The Namakagon Cancer Walk was started to provide assistance to those people fighting cancer in the counties of Sawyer, Bayfield and Ashland. The event features a walk around Lake Namakagon, 18 miles in length. Participants may walk as little or as much as they would like. By reaching set fundraising goals, participants will receive lodging, meals and gifts for collecting their donations.

Zombie Days

Zombie Days is a family celebration of Halloween! Friday kicks off with a blood drive and pumpkin carving contest. Join in the fun Saturday with a scavenger hunt, bike race, parade, Lion's Club Kids Carnival, Haunted Hallway, chili cook-off, Haunted Family Fun Run 5k and much more. Be aware (but don’t be scared) by the characters along the way!

Sno-Drovers’ Sportsmen’s Banquet

November 19 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The meal includes a wide assortment of exotic meats and fish plus all the fixings. Tickets can be purchased at the banquet. There will also be multiple gun raffles, a Chinese raffle for sports equipment, and a door prize. This is a snowmobile club public event sponsored by the Fifield Sno-Drovers. Everyone is welcome to attend. All proceeds earned go directly back into maintaining the trail system.

Turkey Trot 5K Road Run/Walk

Start your Thanksgiving morning off burning calories in the Turkey Trot and you won't feel as guilty about indulging in Thanksgiving dinner. This run/walk will be held rain, snow, or shine! Please bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the local food pantry. Turkeys will be presented to the first male and female finishers. Awards for first place boy and girl. No professional timing. Shirts guaranteed for all early-bird pre-registrations. Please wear blaze orange for your safety.

Each year approximately 30 local businesses participate in the Shop Hop. We will be mailing a Shop Hop Passport to residents in Bayfield, Washburn and La Pointe the week of Thanksgiving. Take your Passport to participating businesses and get it stamped at as many possible. There will be no purchase required, you just have to stop in and get a stamp.
