major port for shipping traffic. Located on Wisconsin Point, part of the world’s largest sandbar, The
Superior Entry Lighthouse has helped guide ships safely into the Superior Harbor for over a century.

Superior Municipal Forest – Superior
The 4,400 acre Superior Municipal Forest is one of the best examples of a boreal (conifers and
hardwood including white and red pine, balsam, cedar, black spruce, white birch and aspen trees) in the
state of Wisconsin. One of the few forests to reside completely within a city’s limits, you can experience
hiking, biking, skiing, snowmobiling, kayaking, archery, ATVing and so much more – right in Superior.
Brule River State Forest
